Repairs Delay Full Reopening of Highway to Domodedovo Airport

Traffic along Kashirskoye Shosse, where a truck damaged a bridge on Wednesday, will not be restored before the weekend, Moscow region traffic police said Friday.

"The movement of traffic is still limited. Repair works are continuing and will likely not be completed during the course of the day," a police spokesman told Interfax.

The accident occurred when a truck driver rammed into the pillars holding up a railroad bridge, causing the partial collapse of train tracks used by commuter trains and the Aeroexpress train to Domodedovo Airport.

The accident caused the cancellation of at least Aeroexpress nine trains, and others were running behind schedule between the airport and Paveletsky Station, Interfax said, citing Aeroexpress.

Repair works were continuing at the site of the accident at the 36th-kilometer mark on Kashirskoye Shosse, and traffic police were monitoring the highway to prevent major traffic jams.
