St. Basil's Cathedral
The word "Moscow" was used for the first time 886 years ago today, on April 4, 1147. Yury Dolgoruky called to the prince of the Novgorod-Serversky to "Come to me, brother, to Moscow," and this was the first recorded use of the word. Nine years later, the Kremlin walls were built to protect the emerging city — whose name hasn't changed since.
