The Foreign Ministry has criticized the U.S. and Georgia over joint military exercises at the Vaziani military training ground, accusing Washington of putting peace at risk five years after a war between Moscow and Tbilisi.
The exercises, held annually since 2010, are running from March 11 to April 5 and involve 400 U.S. marines.
"We believe that any foreign military assistance to Georgia, whatever the motivation, complicates the prospects for strengthening peace and stability in the region," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
