Investigative Committee Head Spends Over 12 Hours Meeting With Citizens

Investigative Committee head Alexander Bastrykin spent over 12 hours on Wednesday meeting with citizens on issues related to criminal cases and complaints, a statement on the committee's official website said.
On Wednesday, during a session that lasted from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Bastrykin met with 28 people from Moscow, St. Petersburg and even from as far as Tatarstan and the Sverdlovsk region, the statement said.
The majority of complaints received during those meetings concerned criminal cases under investigation by the committee.
"These are mainly criminal cases and reports of crimes against individuals, as well as some complaints of professional misconduct. In addition, citizens filed complaints concerning unlawful actions of the Federal Drug Control Service's investigators and officials," the statement said.
Bastrykin also gave instructions regarding the complaints to a number of heads of regional branches.
