Businessman and former Olympic Committee deputy president Akhmed Bilalov, whom President Vladimir Putin publicly criticized and sacked in February, has left the country.
Akhmed Bilalov and his brother Magomed Bilalov left Russia just over a month ago, according to RBK.ru.
Akhmed Bilalov said that his departure is a temporary measure and that he intends to return to Russia in March 2013, RBK.ru said on Tuesday. Their whereabouts have not been disclosed.
Investigators are reviewing companies belonging to two brothers, after Vladimir Putin accused Akhmed Bilalov of delays and cost overruns at an Olympic Krasnaya Polyana ski resort.
Following Putin's criticism and demand for his ouster Bilalov submitted his resignation from three posts: deputy president of the Russian Olympic Committee, president of the state corporation North Caucasus Resorts and president of the Russian Golf Association.
