Ivanov Sent to Sort Out AiRUnion

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Monday ordered Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov to resolve a dispute between debt-ridden AiRUnion and fuel providers that led to passengers becoming stranded at airports, RIA-Novosti reported.

Order needs to be imposed as soon as possible after the group of air carriers encountered problems last week, the state-run news agency cited Putin saying at a meeting of the Presidium on Monday.

AiRUnion resumed flights from Domodedovo Airport over the weekend, ending days of delays caused by soaring prices for jet fuel.

AiRUnion, an alliance of five airlines, delayed more than 20 flights across the country last week after jet fuel companies severed supplies over debts.
