Warm Weather to Continue



Warm temperatures in Moscow are expected through the end of the week, meteorologists said Monday.

Temperatures in Moscow on Tuesday could match Monday's high of 32 degrees Celsius, said Tatyana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist at the Moscow Meteorological Center.

Daytime highs are expected from 29 C to 31 C through Friday, though clouds are expected Wednesday, Pozdnyakova said. (MT)




More Permits for Foreigners



The Federal Migration Service has resumed processing work permits for foreign workers in Moscow and the Moscow region after new applications were suspended in May.

The decision, announced in the government daily Rossiiskaya Gazeta last week, allows companies to resume hiring foreign workers effective immediately.

New applications were suspended on May 30, after the yearly quota was reached. (MT)




DPNI Eyeing Mainstream



The ultranationalist Movement Against Illegal Immigration, or DPNI, intends to abandon radical action and join politics, its leader, Alexander Belov, told the organization's congress.

The organization plans to become a European-style nationalist party, Kommersant reported Monday.

"We are interested in nationalism as a respectable movement. Not with beards and jackboots, but suits and ties," he said, Kommersant reported. (MT)
