Toilet Stunt Gets Nurse 3 Months

A nurse in Siberia has been sentenced to three months in a prison colony for planting a fake bomb in her workplace bathroom in order to get time off from work, prosecutors said Monday.
The Severobaikalsk City Court in the republic of Buryatia convicted Kira Gorshkova of falsely reporting a terrorist act for the Feb. 1 stunt, Interfax reported.
Gorshkova, 22, placed a box with protruding wires in a bathroom at the Severobaikalsk train station clinic and then called police to report the suspicious device, a Regional Prosecutor’s Office spokesman told RIA-Novosti.
“She decided to disrupt the normal regime of the medical establishment because she was refused permission to leave work early,” the spokesman said.
Gorshkova had asked to take unpaid leave, Interfax reported.
The clinic and adjoining hospital were evacuated, though police discovered that the box contained only a ticking alarm clock. Gorshkova admitted to planting the fake bomb, RIA-Novosti reported.
