President-Elect Gets His Own Web Site

Dmitry Medvedev now has an official web site reflecting his temporary status as the elected, but not yet inaugurated, president of Russia.

Located at, the site is a subdivision of the national projects web site. Medvedev has overseen the national projects as first deputy prime minister and is expected to continue doing so after taking office.

The site, which opened last week, contains news about Medvedev, transcripts of his public appearances, his biography and a small photo gallery. It also has a link to the March 3 decree in which President Vladimir Putin gave Medvedev his unwieldy title of "newly elected president but not yet the president who has assumed presidential power."

Some of the graphics are similar to the ones on, the official presidential web site, including a two-headed eagle seal in the top left corner.
