Singapore Airlines will start operating flights from Houston to Moscow -- the first non-stop service connecting these cities. The service will begin on March 20. Until the end of April a round-trip ticket for flights before the end of May can be purchased for 454 euros ($680), including taxes and surcharges.

Singapore Airlines is also offering a promotion on flights from Moscow to Singapore during the same period. A round-trip ticket costs 629 euros ($950) including taxes and surcharges. Promotions are also available on round-trip flights to Bangkok (677 euros; $1,018), Phuket (677 euros; $1,018), Kuala Lumpur (672 euros; $1,011), Ho Chi Minh City (671 euros; $1,010) and Hanoi (671 euros; $1,010). S7 has cut the price of its Moscow to St Petersburg flight to 400 rubles ($17) each way before taxes and surcharges. From April 27, S7 will start direct flights to Dublin. The special webfare price for a round trip is 198 euros ($300) before taxes and surcharges. www.s7.ru

Transaero is offering a new webfare on flights from Kazakhstan. A round-trip ticket from Almaty to Moscow will set you back 31500 KZT ($261). From Astana to Moscow and back, the price is 40,800 KZT ($338). Flights must be made by March 29 and prices do not include taxes and surcharges. www.transaero.ru

British Airways is offering a free upgrade to first class in one direction for customers who book a round trip "Club World" ticket from Moscow to any of a number of destinations.
