Dairy Firm to Make Mors in Canada

Dairy firm Wimm-Bill-Dann will start producing mors, a local berry drink, in Canada to boost international sales.

The company will make the drink at a factory in Toronto through Wonder Berry, a local partner, WBD said Thursday in a statement. Mors will be sold in Canada and also shipped to the United States, France and Israel, spokesman Anton Saraikin said.

Canadian "consumers are very loyal to local products and this marks our entrance to the Western, developed markets with a product made locally," Saraikin said. WBD is also in talks to produce mors in Europe, he said.

Mors, "a unique product" based on age-old Russian recipes, accounts for a significant part of WBD's exports, the spokesman said.

Wonder Berry will produce as much as 5 million liters of mors per year, selling for $1.99 per liter in Canada and the United States, Saraikin said.
