Androsov Tipped as Gref's Deputy

Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Kirill Androsov may become first deputy chairman of Sberbank, Vedomosti reported Tuesday, citing unidentified bankers and a Sberbank official.

German Gref, Sberbank's chief executive, plans to appoint Androsov in March to oversee corporate business and investments, the newspaper said.

Gref told the newspaper that the issue had not been discussed, Vedomosti said. The ministry declined to comment, according to the newspaper.

Androsov, 35, was Gref's deputy at the ministry from 2005 until Sept. 24, 2007, when Elvira Nabiullina replaced Gref.

At the time, sources close to Androsov said he was planning to leave the Economic Development and Trade Ministry. He was responsible for managing state property, including natural monopolies and the $10 billion investment fund that co-finances infrastructure projects.
