HALLE, Germany -- The Russian women's volleyball team beat Poland in five sets Sunday to qualify for the Beijing Olympics.

Russia's 25-23, 25-22, 11-25, 22-25, 15-12 win gave it first place in the European qualifying tournament. Only the winner qualified.

Poland came back from a two-set deficit to level at two sets apiece but the world champion Russian side used a big blocking defense to help it take the deciding set.

China, Italy, Brazil, the United States, Venezuela and Cuba have clinched places in the Olympic tournament already.
